Limited Liability Company(LTD)
It is the most prevalent type of company in the UK, owned by its shareholders. As a separate legal entity distinct from its operators, in the event of company liquidation, shareholders’ liability is capped at the unpaid amount of their shares. A private limited company may be run by a single director, with a starting share capital of just £1, and capital verification is not required.

Public Limited Company(PLC)
It is generally established for the purpose of issuing shares and planning to be publicly listed on stock exchanges. A PLC may have an unlimited number of shareholders, whose liability is limited to any unpaid amounts on their shareholdings. The minimum authorised share capital of such a company shall be £50,000.
