Eligibility Requirements
BPOM applicants must be locally based manufacturers, importers, or distributors in Indonesia. Foreign manufacturers must submit their applications through a local entity (food manufacturer, importer, or distributor) legally registered in Indonesia. The manufacturing supplier must hold internationally recognized certifications to qualify for application, including GMP (for cosmetics, food, and pharmaceuticals), HACCP (for food), ISO 22000 (for food), FSSC (for food), and BRC (for food). For all imported products, BPOM registration must be completed prior to market entry. Once the review is approved, a unique ID number known as the ML (Makanan Luar) number is issued, which authorizes the product for legal sale in Indonesia.
